T + Z Get Gay Married: Satanic Love and Burlesque Performances - A very different queer Wedding Story
Love is love, and it was in full force at T and Z's fabulous queer wedding! I had the pleasure of travelling all the way from Brisbane to Melbourne in the winter of 2022 to capture this magical day. The paperwork was done at Melbourne's marriage registry, and let me tell you, from there on it was unlike any other wedding I've ever attended.
T and Z's wedding was Australia's first official satanic temple wedding since they became a legitimate religion here, and the officiant was none other than the fabulous Fliq Valentina. The guests were dressed to the nines, and I mean it! I'm talking fabulously flamboyant outfits that would make even Lady Gaga blush.
After the ceremony, we took some witchy dark portraits in the enchanting Fitzroy Gardens. It was the perfect setting for these two spooky lovebirds, and the photos turned out absolutely stunning!
Then, it was back to the hotel for a little rest. All three of us are autistic, so it was nice to have a break and recharge before the reception.
The reception was held at The Noble Experiment's, a bar in Collingwood, and it was a night to remember. The highlight of the evening was definitely the burlesque performances by Lilith Revere and Gina Stirling. These two performers absolutely slayed the stage and had the crowd cheering for more!
All in all, T and Z's wedding was a celebration of love, individuality, and authentic self expression. It was an honor to be a part of such a unique and unforgettable day. Congratulations to the happy couple, and may your love continue to shine brightly for years to come!
I would like to acknowledge that this wedding was held on the traditional lands of the the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin, and pay my respect to Elders both past, present and future.
